Robert Lay, founder of Eltheo Capital Group, brings over 19 years of expertise in debt and structured finance with extensive experience in the banking industry, including roles in retail, commercial, corporate, and investment banking. With a specialization in commercial real estate, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and multinational corporations, he connects clients with a diverse range of capital solutions tailored to their needs.

Before founding Eltheo Capital, Robert was Senior Director of Debt & Structured Finance at JLL Hong Kong, where he led the debt and finance business for commercial real estate covering the APAC region projects. He also served as General Manager of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Bank of China New Zealand. Robert’s strong regional presence and extensive network of investors—ranging from high-net-worth individuals to institutional funds and banks—enable him to deliver tailored finance solutions, from mezzanine debt to preferred equity for acquisitions, refinancing, and development projects.

Robert’s career also includes entrepreneurial experience in Southeast Asia, where he led a family business to become a top rice exporter in the region. His blend of hands-on business insight and deep finance expertise makes him a valuable partner for clients looking to grow and succeed through smart capital solutions.
